Akiba Station 2026: dates and schedule at L.A. Comic Con

Published on August 8, 2026·By Antoine Brault

A French cosplay and manga goods shop since 2023. We try on the costumes we sell, and we write about the series we actually follow. About us.

Quick answer: Akiba Station, L.A. Comic Con's anime hub, returns October 30 to November 1, 2026 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, bigger than in 2025. Torii gates, a Japanese food market, the Akiba Gaming Terminal arcade, voice actor meet-and-greets and a cosplay stamp rally: it's the largest Japanese pop culture space this convention has ever built. Full schedule, a side-by-side with 2025, and practical notes for visitors flying in from outside the US.

What exactly is Akiba Station?

Akiba Station is L.A. Comic Con's dedicated anime and Japanese pop culture zone, built to evoke Tokyo's Akihabara district. You walk in through a double pink-and-blue torii gate under a cherry blossom walkway, then hit a Japanese street food market, an arcade corner, and meet-and-greet zones with voice actors and cosplayers.

The space is produced by Otaku Collectives, an anime event collective, in partnership with L.A. Comic Con. "From the beginning, our vision for Akiba Station has been to create a space that feels authentic to the anime community and gives fans a dedicated place to celebrate the culture they love," says Chris DeMoulin, CEO of L.A. Comic Con, in the August 7, 2026 announcement. The space debuted in 2025 on 40,000 square feet, and the reception was strong enough to earn it a bigger footprint in year two.

When and where does Akiba Station 2026 take place?

Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, over Halloween weekend. That's a full month later than the 2025 edition, which ran in late September: L.A. Comic Con shifted the whole convention to this new slot, and Akiba Station moved with it.

As of this writing (August 8, 2026), L.A. Comic Con hasn't republished a day-by-day hours grid specific to 2026. In 2025, the show opened Friday afternoon and both weekend days from the morning; check the official hours page before booking flights, since these slots can shift slightly from one edition to the next.

What's changing compared to 2025?

The 2026 edition is billed as bigger across the board: a larger footprint, expanded Japanese-themed decor including new cherry blossom installations, and more partner activations. Here's what's confirmed so far, next to last year.

On the guest list, caution is warranted: Anime Corner, which checked in with organizers in early August, reports that "additional anime brands, artists, voice actors and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks." Nothing is confirmed on the casting front yet, unlike 2025, when five Japanese voice actors were already named at the same point in the calendar.

What is there to actually do there?

According to Akiba Station's official page, the programming splits into a handful of fixed zones. A stamp rally sends visitors through several booths to collect stamps, treasure-hunt style. Voice actor meet-and-greets and cosplay photo slots run at set times. The Akiba Gaming Terminal lines up retro Mugen-style arcade cabinets and claw machines. The food market rounds it out with Japanese street food and merch stalls.

"Last year's response showed us that fans weren't just looking for more anime content, they were looking for an experience that felt like it belonged to them," says Johnny Chang, founder of Otaku Collectives, in the same announcement. "Akiba Station was created by anime fans, for anime fans, whether you're a longtime fan, collector, cosplayer, or someone discovering the culture for the first time."

Who showed up at Akiba Station in 2025?

Cosplay across every fandom, from casual fan-service looks to elaborate handmade builds. One attendee spotted under the gate wore a full Enel costume (One Piece), Raijuu staff included, with painted abs and the character's signature blue-and-green wrap. Other photos from the edition show whole groups arriving in costume, Otaku Collectives tote bags in hand after a stop at the market.

If an L.A. trip is on the calendar and a cosplay is in the works, it helps to start from solid pieces: the Zoro cosplay wig, 29.99 €, rated 4.7/5 across 39 reviews, and the Luffy straw hat, 19.99 €, rated 4.9/5 across 25 reviews, cover two characters you'll spot at any convention with a decent One Piece turnout. For building a full costume from scratch, our ultimate manga cosplay guide breaks down budget and fabric choices; for a first outfit that won't eat three months of pay, ten easy cosplay ideas for beginners is still the most sensible starting point.

Akiba Station also has a genuine family side: several 2025 photos show parents and kids posing under the torii, strollers included. The stamp rally format and the retro arcade are built to hold a broad crowd, not just the most committed cosplayers.

Tickets and practical info for visitors coming from outside the US

L.A. Comic Con 2026 tickets are sold exclusively through the convention's official website via its ticketing partner: no third-party platform is mentioned by organizers. None of the sources checked mention a separate ticket for Akiba Station specifically, it's part of the general show floor once you've paid admission. 2026 pricing hadn't been published as of August 8, 2026.

For anyone flying in from Europe, the most direct route lands at LAX, about twenty minutes from the convention center outside of traffic. Halloween weekend is also peak tourist season in Los Angeles, so booking flights and lodging early avoids the worst of the price spikes.
