In short: Boruto: Two Blue Vortex skips the October issue of V Jump, on sale in Japan on August 21, 2026. Chapter 37 will run in the November issue, out Friday, September 18, 2026, and will hit MANGA Plus at the same time in English and Spanish. No reason has been given.

When does Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 37 come out?
Chapter 37 comes out on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the November issue of V Jump magazine. The announcement, reported by Anime News Network on August 15, states the manga sits out the October issue, the one hitting Japanese newsstands on August 21. One skipped issue, not two.
V Jump is a Shueisha monthly that ships around the 21st of each month, with regular date adjustments: the November issue happens to land on the 18th. Boruto runs at one chapter per month there, so this break pushes everything back a month, volume 9 included.
| V Jump issue | On sale in Japan | Boruto chapter |
|---|---|---|
| September 2026 | Late July | Chapter 36, already out |
| October 2026 | August 21, 2026 | None, the manga skips this issue |
| November 2026 | September 18, 2026 | Chapter 37 |
On MANGA Plus, each chapter goes live when the magazine ships in Japan. The exact hour depends on your time zone, so just keep September 18 in mind.

Why is the manga skipping an issue?
Nobody knows, and I would rather say it plainly: neither Shueisha, nor Masashi Kishimoto, nor Mikio Ikemoto attached any reason to the announcement. Just the return date.
The theories going around, anime prep, banking storyboards, plain rest, are backed by nothing public, so I am not repeating them as fact. What is factual is that the series has taken breaks before: between the end of part one and the launch of Two Blue Vortex, the manga already sat out April through July 2023. The monthly pace itself has not moved in three years: 36 chapters since August 2023, where a weekly series gets through that many in eight months.

Where does Two Blue Vortex stand as the break begins?
The manga counts 36 chapters, the latest published in late July in the September issue, and 8 volumes. The eighth came out in Japan on June 4, 2026, at 1,650 yen, with a white cover devoted to Eida. English print volumes are handled by VIZ Media.
To set the scene without giving anything important away: the story picks up three years after part one. Boruto, now an adult, lives as a fugitive hunted by his own village ever since everyone's memories were rewritten, and Sarada is one of the few who knows the truth. That is the starting point the MANGA Plus manga video puts front and center, and it still weighs on every chapter as the break begins.

Where can you read the manga during the break?
On MANGA Plus, Shueisha's reading app and website, which publishes every chapter in worldwide simulpub. "A new chapter of BORUTO: TWO BLUE VORTEX is available on MANGA Plus! Available languages: English, Spanish, Thai, Portuguese, Indonesian, and French," the franchise's English X account reminds readers with every release. Recent chapters are free to read there: the simplest way to be ready on September 18.
| Where | Languages | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MANGA Plus (app and web) | EN, ES, FR, PT, TH, ID | Recent chapters free, same-day as Japan |
| VIZ / Shonen Jump | English | Online reading, digital volumes |
| Kana volumes | French | Print in bookstores, digital on Mangas.io |
| V Jump Comics volumes | Japanese | Volume 8 at 1,650 yen, out June 4, 2026 |
36 monthly chapters is a comfortable weekend of catching up. And if you just want the mood in one minute, the manga video released by MANGA Plus does the job.
What about the Two Blue Vortex anime?
It is locked in at Studio Pierrot, with no air date. The studio's president, Michiyuki Honma, confirmed in early 2026 that the adaptation would move to a seasonal format, a first for a franchise that ran 293 episodes back to back from April 2017 to March 2023 on the first part of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
In the meantime, the manga's tenth anniversary was marked in May with a dedicated music video: Ikimonogakari's "BAKU," cut to Two Blue Vortex panels for the JUMP MV series. A recap video, Road to Two Blue Vortex, followed in early June on the franchise's channel to put the story back in order before what comes next.

How do you get through the wait until September 18?
Reread the 36 chapters, watch the recap, and if you like carrying the universe beyond the pages, the shop has you covered. The Akatsuki rings remain our most requested Naruto pieces: Itachi's ring holds a 5.0/5 across 26 reviews at €12.99, and I broke down what their kanji actually mean in a dedicated guide. Readers who prefer paper tend to go for the book devoted to Kakashi, rated 4.8/5 across 17 reviews.
The break also lands while the Naruto universe keeps expanding elsewhere: Bandai is building its card game for summer 2027, and I summed up everything known about the Naruto Card Game after its Gen Con demo. Plenty to fill a chapterless month. The rest of our pieces from the universe sit in the Naruto collection, 16 active items as I write this.

The questions that keep coming up
Is Boruto chapter 37 coming out in August 2026?
No. The October issue of V Jump, on sale August 21, 2026, carries no Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter. Chapter 37 arrives one month later, in the November issue that ships on September 18, 2026.
How many chapters and volumes does Two Blue Vortex have?
36 chapters published between August 2023 and July 2026, plus 8 volumes. The eighth came out in Japan on June 4, 2026. The series runs at one chapter per month in V Jump magazine.
Who writes and draws Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?
Mikio Ikemoto draws it, and Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto's creator, has written the story since November 2020, when he replaced Ukyō Kodachi. The same duo has handled Two Blue Vortex since its launch in August 2023.
Do you need to read the first part of Boruto before Two Blue Vortex?
It helps a lot. The series starts after a three-year time skip and leans entirely on the ending of part one. For a shortcut, the Road to Two Blue Vortex recap video on the franchise's channel sums up the essentials in four chapters.
What is V Jump?
A monthly Shueisha magazine focused on games and a handful of in-house manga, including Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. It hits Japanese newsstands around the 21st of each month, and its chapters reach MANGA Plus at the same time for the rest of the world.
