Jujutsu Kaisen season 3: what the Culling Game delivered, and what we know about season 4

Published on March 24, 2025·Updated on July 26, 2026·By Antoine Brault

In short: Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has aired. It ran from 8 January to 26 March 2026 on Crunchyroll, across twelve episodes, and adapts the Culling Game arc. Studio MAPPA confirmed a fourth season right after the finale, without announcing a date.

Has Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 been released?

Yes, and it has already finished. The season ran from 8 January to 26 March 2026 as a worldwide Crunchyroll simulcast, one episode a week, for twelve episodes in total. It opened with a one-hour double episode, which is why some schedules list 9 January as the start date.

Worth flagging if you landed here from an old search: this page previously mentioned a possible late-2025 window, back when MAPPA had given no date at all. It is current as of 26 July 2026, and the season did air at the start of the year.

What the Culling Game arc adapts

Teaser for Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, the Culling Game arc

The arc starts from a simple, vicious premise: Kenjaku sets up a deadly game across Japan, with rules imposed on the participants and sealed colonies nobody walks out of freely. That tournament structure changes the nature of the series, which shifts from occasional confrontations to a permanent competition where any encounter can be the last.

It is also the arc that puts Yuta Okkotsu back at the centre of the story, and finally gives screen time to sorcerers left in the background for two seasons. If you want the rules laid out before watching or rereading, we broke them down in our article on the Culling Game, its arenas and its points system.

In terms of execution, MAPPA delivered a more restrained season than the Shibuya Incident, with fewer isolated set pieces and a more continuous tension. Manga readers are mostly split on pacing, judged fast on some of the secondary fights.

Season 4: what is actually confirmed

It is happening. The announcement came right after the final episode aired, in March 2026, to adapt the rest of the arc. No date, no window and no episode count have been communicated so far.

Be wary of the dates circulating online: as this page is updated, on 26 July 2026, nothing official exists beyond the confirmation itself. The show's history gives a rough order of magnitude, since previous seasons were spaced two to three years apart, but an order of magnitude is not a date.

A first season 4 trailer was nonetheless revealed during MAPPA's fifteenth anniversary stream, with Shouta Goshozono as chief director. It confirms that this season will conclude the arc, without giving a date.

Theme songs and official trailers

The season arrived with “AIZO” by King Gnu for the opening, the band's third theme for the franchise, and “Yoake no Uta” by jo0ji for the ending. The trailer Crunchyroll released gives a good sense of the arc's tone.

The Japanese PV posted by TOHO animation put the spotlight on the theme song and on the Game's new characters: Kinji Hakari, Hiromi Higuruma, Kirara Hoshi, Fumihiko Takaba and Reggie Star.

Where to catch up

All three seasons and the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are on Crunchyroll. To get back into it, the question is not which season but which arc: if the Shibuya Incident is a distant memory, rewatch its ending before starting the Culling Game, because season 3 opens on its immediate consequences with no recap.

On the character side, if you want to dig into the one who has dominated conversations since Shibuya, we wrote a full article on Sukuna, the King of Curses, and what makes his case so unusual.

The most requested Jujutsu Kaisen cosplays

Jujutsu Kaisen is our second-largest universe by number of items, with nineteen products available. The jujutsu school uniform is the easiest costume to wear in the whole catalogue, because it looks like actual clothing rather than a costume.

The Maki Zenin costume at 49.99 euros is our most reviewed item across every category: 100 reviews for a 4.7 out of 5 average. One piece of feedback worth reading before ordering, because it comes up regularly and it is fair: Ryleigh Cobb warns the cut runs small on a fuller chest. As with most Asian-sized outfits, go one size above your usual European size.

Behind it, the Choso costume at 99.99 euros holds 4.9 out of 5 across 48 reviews, and Geto's at 59 euros matches that score across 34 reviews. For Yuji, the full uniform is 59.99 euros, rated 4.9 out of 5 across 23 reviews. The two most affordable outfits remain Gojo's and Nobara's, at 29.99 euros.

If a full cosplay is not the goal, two items sell far more than the rest: the Sukuna ring at 12.99 euros, rated 5 out of 5 across 51 reviews, and the Gojo plush at 19.99 euros, also 5 out of 5 across 24 reviews. The Gojo keyring at 14.99 euros completes the trio of gifts under 20 euros. Everything else is in the Jujutsu Kaisen collection.

For wigs, Nobara's at 29.99 euros is the best rated of the range at 4.9 out of 5. Plan for a wig cap and some styling time: straight out of the bag, no cosplay wig sits properly.

Frequently asked questions about Jujutsu Kaisen season 3

When was Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 released?
From 8 January to 26 March 2026 on Crunchyroll, across twelve weekly episodes. The first was a one-hour double episode, which explains the schedules listing 9 January as the launch date.

How many episodes does season 3 have?
Twelve episodes, produced by MAPPA. The season covers the Culling Game arc and stops before the end of that arc in the manga.

Will there be a Jujutsu Kaisen season 4?
Yes, it was confirmed right after the season 3 finale aired, in March 2026. No date, no release window and no episode count have been announced so far, and any precise date circulating online is speculation.

Where can I watch Jujutsu Kaisen?
On Crunchyroll, which hosts all three seasons and the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Season 3 aired there as a worldwide simulcast, subtitled first, with dubbing following later.

What is the Culling Game arc about?
Kenjaku sets up a deadly game across Japan, with sealed colonies, imposed rules and a points system. The stakes reach beyond the sorcerers since the entire population is involved, and the arc brings Yuta Okkotsu back to the forefront.

Do I need to rewatch season 2 first?
The ending of season 2 is enough. Season 3 opens directly on the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident with no recap, so rewatching the last three or four episodes of the previous season keeps you from losing the thread straight away.

Antoine, founder of Bakashop. Page updated on 26 July 2026: season 3 has aired, season 4 is confirmed without a date. It will be updated as soon as MAPPA announces a schedule.
