Which Demon Slayer cosplay should you pick as a beginner?
Tanjiro, for one simple reason: he is the only character everyone recognises, including people who have never watched the show. The green and black checkered haori has become a pattern in its own right, to the point where you see it on clothes with no connection to the anime.
The difficulty in Demon Slayer never comes from the costume, which is a fairly plain dark uniform. It comes from two things: the hair, and the facial marks. A Tanjiro without his forehead scar passes for a schoolboy in uniform; with the scar and the earrings, he is identified in a second.
The available characters, from simplest to most demanding
Seven characters, thirteen items in total, and 232 reviews across the range. No costume drops below 4.7 out of 5, which is the best score of any of our licences.
Tanjiro: the wig comes first
The Tanjiro wig at 16.99 euros holds 4.7 out of 5 across 46 reviews. It is by far our most reviewed Demon Slayer item, which says something about how people build this cosplay: many buy the wig alone, with a haori sourced elsewhere.
Two accessories complete the character for under 32 euros. The hanafuda earrings at 16.99 euros (4.9 out of 5 across 15 reviews) are the detail that makes the difference in photos: they are what people in the know look for. And the Tanjiro ring at 14.99 euros can be worn daily without announcing anything.
For the scar, no professional makeup is needed: a dark red pencil and a little blending are enough. It is asymmetrical and starts from the left side of the forehead, a detail many cosplayers get the wrong way round.
Shinobu, the most reviewed costume
The Shinobu costume at 29.99 euros holds 26 reviews for 4.7 out of 5, making it the most reviewed item in the costume range. The butterfly-gradient haori is recognisable from a distance, and the cut works as well at a convention as at a party.
Like the whole catalogue, the outfit is cut to Asian sizing: go one size up from your usual. The hairstyle takes some work, the butterfly shape at the back being what distinguishes Shinobu from a plain Hashira outfit.

Obanai, the only real investment in the range
The Obanai costume at 69.99 euros is rated 5 out of 5 across 20 reviews, and it is the most expensive Demon Slayer item in the shop. The price makes sense: the Serpent Hashira wears a full uniform with a patterned haori, and the set has more pieces than the others.

How much does a full Demon Slayer cosplay cost?
Three tiers, with what they actually include.
At 47 euros, the Tanjiro costume and its wig: that is the sweet spot, and what we recommend for a first convention. At 64 euros, you add the hanafuda earrings, and the cosplay becomes credible up close as well as from afar. Above 70 euros, Obanai is for people who already have a convention or two behind them.
The Zenitsu and Giyu shorts at 24.99 euros are a category of their own: not cosplay but everyday clothing, both rated 4.8 out of 5. And the Tanjiro frame at 29.99 euros (4.9 out of 5 across 22 reviews) is for the bedroom, not the convention.
Where the series stands, and why now is the moment
The Infinity Castle trilogy adapts the manga's final chapters, where Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps face Muzan. The first film arrived on Crunchyroll on 28 July 2026, in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and German, after its theatrical run.
In practice, that means two things for cosplayers. Demand for photos is at its peak right now, and it will last: the trilogy is not finished. And the Hashira characters, long secondary, are now front and centre, which makes Shinobu and Obanai far more readable at a convention than they were two years ago.
Nezuko, the easiest cosplay to pull off
The Nezuko costume at 29.99 euros is rated 5 out of 5 across 9 reviews. It is the most forgiving of the range: the patterned pink kimono and the bamboo in the mouth are enough, even without a perfect wig. The bamboo takes ten minutes to make from a piece of tube and a ribbon.
On timing, the shop's usual rule: 7 to 21 days of delivery depending on destination. For a convention, order a month ahead, which leaves room for a size exchange.
