In short: LEGO One Piece lands on Netflix on 29 September 2026, both episodes on the same day. Canadian studio Atomic Cartoons replays seasons 1 and 2 of the live-action series entirely in bricks, with Usopp as narrator and the six live-action leads voicing their own characters.
When does LEGO One Piece come out on Netflix?
On 29 September 2026, everywhere Netflix operates, with both episodes released together. The date was already attached to the project when it was unveiled on 7 April 2026, and it has not moved since. On 20 August 2026 Netflix put out the full trailer and a batch of first-look images.

The drop landed during Anime NYC, held from 20 to 23 August 2026 at the Javits Center in New York. Locked in today: the date, the two-part format, the voice cast, the studio and the storytelling device. Not locked in: episode runtimes, which neither Netflix nor LEGO has published. The poster bills it as a Netflix limited series, so a closed story rather than an ongoing show.
What is the LEGO One Piece two-parter about?
Both episodes replay seasons 1 and 2 of the live-action series, from the East Blue to the crew's arrival in the Grand Line. Usopp tells the story to Tony Tony Chopper, the newest recruit. Since the narrator is the biggest liar on the ship, his version is not meant to be accurate.
The announcement video, where Usopp starts telling Chopper the tale, opens by clicking the image.
Showrunner and writer Tom Hyndman explained the choice to Netflix Tudum: "We wanted to make something that would ease new viewers into the massive world of ONE PIECE while also giving longtime fans a new, fun perspective to see the iconic stories of the first two seasons." Handing the narration to Usopp solves a classic adaptation problem. Squeezing twenty hours of television into two episodes forces cuts, exaggerations and skipped steps. When Usopp is the one talking, those shortcuts become a joke instead of a flaw.
The images released on 20 August cover both halves. For the first, Buggy the Clown on his circus stage and the fish-men of Arlong Park. For the second, Chopper in the corridors of Drum Castle.

Who voices the characters in LEGO One Piece?
The full live-action crew, in the original version. Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Emily Rudd (Nami), Mackenyu (Zoro), Jacob Romero (Usopp), Taz Skylar (Sanji) and Mikaela Hoover (Chopper) voice their own characters across both episodes. Anime News Network also lists Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Katey Sagal as Dr Kureha, Jeff Ward as Buggy and Callum Kerr as Smoker.
The first teaser, released in July, opens by clicking the image.
Hyndman told Tudum what that changed in the booth: "It allowed us to really go wild during the records because we didn't have to take extra time to have them find the character, they are the character." He adds that the freedom produced improvised moments that made the final cut. No information has been published about dubbed versions as of 22 August 2026.
Who is making LEGO One Piece?
Atomic Cartoons, an animation studio based in Vancouver, known for Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends. The project is built with Japanese publisher Shueisha, the LEGO Group and Tomorrow Studios, the production company behind the live-action series.
Chelsea Ker directed both episodes. Tom Hyndman is showrunner, writer and executive producer. Manga author Eiichiro Oda executive produces alongside Jill Wilfert, Keith Malone and Lars Danielsen for LEGO, and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements for Tomorrow Studios. That production continuity explains why the minifigures look like the actors rather than the manga characters: the visual starting point is the Netflix show, not Oda's pages.

How many versions of One Piece will Netflix carry in 2026 and 2027?
Four separate things, some of them telling the same story in different shapes. The live-action series holds the present, LEGO One Piece arrives in September, and 2027 brings both season 3 and an animated remake handed to Wit Studio. Here is how it lines up.
| Title | Format | Release | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Piece, seasons 1 and 2 | live action | 31 August 2023 and 10 March 2026 | the East Blue, then entering the Grand Line |
| LEGO One Piece | brick animation, 2 episodes | 29 September 2026 | a retelling of seasons 1 and 2, narrated by Usopp |
| THE ONE PIECE (Wit Studio) | animation, 7 episodes, about 300 minutes | February 2027 | the first 50 manga chapters |
| One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta | live action, season 3 | 2027, no day announced | the Alabasta arc |
The animated remake deserves a stop. Wit Studio restarts the manga at chapter 1 with Masashi Koizuka directing, Hideaki Abe as assistant director and Taku Kishimoto on series scripts. Mayumi Tanaka, who has voiced Luffy since 1999 in the Toei series, returns to the role. The first key visual, revealed on 20 August 2026, recreates the two-page colour spread that opened "Romance Dawn", the very first chapter. Seven episodes for fifty chapters works out at roughly seven chapters per episode, a pace nothing like the long-running anime.
Live-action season 3, subtitled The Battle of Alabasta, wrapped filming in Cape Town in 2026 for a 2027 release. No precise date has been given. If you want to put the arcs back in order first, our guide to the platforms streaming One Piece and the episode schedule picks up the thread on the Japanese anime side.
Do the LEGO One Piece sets actually exist?
They do, and the range runs deeper than the show suggests. The theme launched on 1 August 2025 with seven boxes, including The Going Merry Pirate Ship (75639) at 1,376 pieces. A second wave arrived on 1 August 2026, opened for pre-order on 9 April, and it tracks the locations of season 2 closely.
| Set | Number | Pieces | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dr. Hiriluk's Hideout | 75641 | 271 | 29.99 EUR |
| Showdown with Captain Smoker | 75642 | 547 | 59.99 EUR |
| Tony Tony Chopper | 75643 | 577 | 69.99 EUR |
| Dorry vs. Brogy, Giants of Little Garden | 75644 | 733 | 79.99 EUR |
| Battle at Drum Castle | 75645 | 1,038 | 99.99 EUR |
| Garp's Marine Battleship | 75646 | 1,705 | 169.99 EUR |
Jay's Brick Blog lists a seventh box, the Gum-Gum Fruit (75647, 482 pieces, 69.99 EUR), which does not appear on the manufacturer's announcement page: check it in store before counting on it. The link with the two-parter jumps out when you put the two lists side by side. Drum, Little Garden, Smoker and Chopper are exactly the settings of the second episode. Netflix even raises the point in its own write-up, inviting viewers to spot the pieces seen on screen inside the sets.
Do you need to have watched the live-action series first?
No. The two-parter is built as a front door: Usopp tells everything to Chopper, who knows none of it, so the viewer sits exactly where Chopper sits. Hyndman says as much in his Tudum interview, the aim being to welcome newcomers as much as regulars.
Netflix rates the special 7+, which makes it the most accessible version of One Piece to hand to a child. If you would rather get ahead anyway, the two live-action seasons run under twenty hours and stay permanently available on the platform.
On the dress-up side, our One Piece shelf roughly follows the cast of the two-parter. The Chopper cosplay hat with its antlers is 19.99 EUR and holds 5.0 out of 5 across 31 reviews, the best-rated piece on the shelf. The Luffy straw hat costs the same, 4.9 out of 5 across 25 reviews. One seller's tip on both: the straw brim warps in transit, and you fix it by resting the hat upside down on a flat surface overnight, never by pulling on the edge.
Frequently asked questions
What time does LEGO One Piece drop on Netflix?
Netflix has not published a time for this title. The platform usually posts new releases at midnight Pacific, which is 3 a.m. on the US East Coast and 9 a.m. across Western Europe on the same day. Until something is published, treat that as an observed habit rather than a guarantee.
How many episodes does LEGO One Piece have?
Two, released on the same day. Netflix calls it a two-part special and the poster bills a limited series, so a closed story. Neither Netflix nor LEGO had published episode runtimes as of 22 August 2026, and the figures circulating elsewhere rest on no named source.
Is LEGO One Piece based on the live-action show or the manga?
On the live-action show. The story retells seasons 1 and 2 as streamed on Netflix, the minifigures are modelled on the actors, and those same actors provide the voices. Eiichiro Oda's manga remains the distant source, but the direct adaptation is the Tomorrow Studios series.
What age rating does LEGO One Piece have?
Netflix rates it 7+. That is looser than the live-action series, rated for teenagers, and it fits a brick treatment that defuses the violence. For a child who has never seen the show, it is the friendliest way into One Piece available right now.
Where does the Wit Studio One Piece remake stand?
THE ONE PIECE reaches Netflix in February 2027. Seven episodes will cover the first fifty manga chapters, roughly 300 minutes in total, directed by Masashi Koizuka. Mayumi Tanaka returns as the voice of Luffy. The first key visual, revealed on 20 August 2026, recreates the opening spread of chapter 1.
