One Piece: where to watch it in France and the schedule to 4 October

Published on August 13, 2026·Updated on August 13, 2026·By Antoine Brault

A French cosplay and manga goods shop since 2023. We try on the costumes we sell, and we write about the series we actually follow. About us.

In short: in France, new One Piece episodes land on Sunday at 8 p.m. on Crunchyroll, ADN and Disney+, and six days later on Netflix. The second cour of the Elbaf arc runs to episode 1181, due on Sunday 4 October 2026. If you would rather not be spoiled, Netflix is the wrong pick.

Where to watch One Piece in France

Four services carry the anime here, and they are not equivalent. Three simulcast it on Sunday at 8 p.m. French time: Crunchyroll, ADN and Disney+. Netflix puts the same episode up six days later. That gap is the only difference that really matters if you follow the series week by week.

Reading this from another country: the episode dates below hold everywhere, since they follow the Japanese broadcast, but the platforms do not. Crunchyroll carries the series across most territories, ADN is French only, and what Disney+ or Netflix offer depends on local rights. Check your own catalogue before subscribing for One Piece alone.

In France the choice comes down less to One Piece than to what else you watch. Several simulcasts a season, and Crunchyroll or ADN do the job. Already paying for Disney+ for something else, and the anime is included at no extra cost. Netflix only makes sense if you are catching up rather than following along, because a week behind on One Piece, in 2026, is a week of avoiding social media.

Do not count on the French dub keeping pace: it runs on its own schedule, far behind the Japanese episodes. All three simulcast services stream the original version with subtitles.

The episode schedule to the end of the cour

One episode every Sunday, with no break announced before the end of the second cour. The Elbaf arc was split into two blocks of thirteen episodes, twenty-six in all: the first ran from episode 1156 to 1168, the second runs from 1169 to 1181. The first three rows below have already aired, they are there to help you catch up.

The Netflix dates follow from the six-day gap and can shift by a day depending on publishing time zones. The simulcast ones are firm.

What the move to a seasonal format changes

One Piece has dropped continuous broadcast for a split into seasons and cours. In practice the series stops when a block ends, then returns on a date announced in advance, instead of taking surprise weeks off or running filler episodes to let the manga build a lead.

For viewers, that means better animation pacing and readable breaks. For anyone who just wants to know when to watch, it means that after 4 October you wait for the next block to be announced rather than for an episode the following Sunday. The break before this second cour was filled by a programme devoted to the series' heroines, not by arc episodes.

Where the Elbaf arc stands

The crew has reached the island of the giants, a setting trailed since the earliest sagas of Eiichiro Oda's work. Without giving away recent episodes, this is the arc that settles the most narrative debt built up over twenty-five years, which is why every episode sets off so much discussion on Sunday night.

If the collecting side of the licence interests you, we covered the promotional Luffy card handed out at the Grévin museum and the One Piece cards that reach the highest prices elsewhere. On the animation side, the piece on impact frames and what they hide in action scenes reads very well straight after an Elbaf episode.

What to wear for the Sunday episode

One Piece is the best-stocked aisle in the shop, with twenty-two items available. Three keep coming back in orders.

Luffy's straw hat with its red ribbon, wearable One Piece replica

Luffy's straw hat at 19.99 euros is rated 4.9 out of 5 across 25 reviews. One detail buyers report and worth knowing before ordering: the drawstring is short, and several customers swap it for a longer cord. Nothing disqualifying, but better heard from us than discovered on delivery.

On the Zoro side, the pair that moves fastest is the green wig at 29.99 euros, 4.7 out of 5 across 39 reviews, and the earrings at 16.99 euros, 4.7 out of 5 across 38 reviews. The earrings alone make a cosplay recognisable from a distance, which makes them the best value in the aisle. The full Zoro costume goes up to 49.99 euros, 4.9 out of 5 across 22 reviews.

The Chopper hat at 19.99 euros shows 5 out of 5 across 31 reviews, and the comments all say roughly the same thing. Kalani Alexander sums it up: "item identical to the site description, very nice and exactly like in the manga". Among cosplayers, the Nami costume at 49.99 euros and its orange wig at 29.99 euros remain the most requested pair.

To decorate rather than wear, the crew's pirate flag at 19.99 euros is rated 5 out of 5 across 22 reviews, and the Luffy light frame at 34.99 euros reaches 5 out of 5 across 32 reviews. The rest sits in the One Piece collection.

A word on delivery, because the question comes up every arc: allow 7 to 21 days depending on destination. To wear something for the final episode of the cour, on 4 October, order before 10 September.

Frequently asked questions

Where can you watch new One Piece episodes in France?
On Crunchyroll, ADN or Disney+, every Sunday at 8 p.m. French time, in the original version with subtitles. Netflix carries the same episodes six days later. The first three stream at the same moment, so the choice comes down to the subscription you already have.

Why is Netflix behind on episodes?
Netflix is not part of the simulcast and publishes episodes six days after they air in Japan. On a series as widely discussed as One Piece, that means a full week of exposure to spoilers on social media before you can watch.

When does the last episode of the Elbaf cour air?
Episode 1181 closes the second cour on Sunday 4 October 2026 in simulcast, and on 10 October on Netflix. After that date, broadcast stops until the next block is announced, in line with the series' new seasonal format.

How many episodes does the Elbaf arc have?
Twenty-six for this first season, split into two cours of thirteen. The first covered episodes 1156 to 1168, the second runs from 1169 to 1181. What follows in the arc depends on announcements to come.

Is the French dub available for recent episodes?
No. The French dub runs on an independent schedule, well behind the Japanese episodes. If you follow the series week to week, the subtitled simulcast is the only way to stay current.

Do you need to have seen everything before starting Elbaf?
The arc builds on elements set up very early in the series, so jumping straight in costs you part of what makes it work. If you have to choose, watch at least the previous arc, otherwise the stakes on the island of the giants will pass you by.

Antoine, founder of Bakashop. Broadcast dates checked on 13 August 2026. This article will be updated when the next block of episodes is announced.
