Short answer: out of the 216 products in the shop, only three costumes come in children's sizes. Obanai Iguro from Demon Slayer, 110 to 150 centimetres at €69.99, the only one that goes that small. Muichiro Tokito from Demon Slayer, 120 to 150, at €59.99 for the costume. And Itachi Uchiha from Naruto, in 135 and 155 centimetres, from €59.99. Shinobu, Nezuko and Tanjiro exist in adult sizes only, M to XXXL.
It is the question we get most in October, and most shops answer it vaguely. So let us be blunt: character costumes actually cut for a child can be counted on one hand. Here is which ones, at what measurements, and what to do when the child is smaller than the smallest size.
The three costumes that come in kids sizes
Sizes are given in centimetres of the child's height, not in years. That is the convention these makers use and it avoids misunderstandings: an eight-year-old can measure anywhere from 120 to 140 centimetres.
| Character | Series | Kids sizes | Price | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Obanai Iguro | Demon Slayer | 110, 120, 130, 140, 150 cm | €69.99 | one complete version |
| Muichiro Tokito | Demon Slayer | 120, 130, 140, 150 cm | €59.99 | costume alone, or with the wig at €69.99 |
| Itachi Uchiha | Naruto | 135 and 155 cm | €59.99 | cloak and headband, full set at €79.99 |
Obanai, the only one down to 110 centimetres
If the child is small, this is the only full costume available. Obanai Iguro is recognisable by his patterned white haori and the bandage over one eye, and it has the advantage of being plain: no cape trailing on the ground, no prop to lose in the street. The character is less famous with the general public than Tanjiro, but any Demon Slayer reader spots him instantly. If you want to know who he is before choosing, we gave him a whole article.
Muichiro, the best effect for the money
The Muichiro Tokito costume is €59.99 and covers 120 to 150 centimetres. His gradient haori and long hair do all the recognition work. The product page offers three versions: wig only at €29.99, costume only at €59.99, and both together at €69.99. On a child the long wig sits better with a thin cap underneath, and it comes off in a second if it gets annoying late in the evening.
Itachi, two sizes and three levels of kit
The red-cloud Akatsuki cloak of Itachi Uchiha is the easiest costume on this list to wear: it is a large cloak that goes over anything. It only exists in 135 and 155 centimetres, which reserves it for taller children. Three levels: cloak and headband at €59.99, the same with kunai and ring at €69.99, the full set with necklace at €79.99. The kunai is soft plastic, but check first: some schools and neighbourhood parties refuse any fake weapon, even foam.
What does not come in kids sizes, which is most of it
Worth stating plainly, because the question comes back every year: the Shinobu Kocho costume does not exist in children's sizes. It runs M to XXXL. Same for Nezuko, Tanjiro and Zenitsu, all three at €29.99 but in adult sizes only, M to XXXL. An adult M on a ten-year-old is not a small size, it is a costume that drags on the floor and that they will trip over.
For adults set on Shinobu anyway, we detailed what her costume includes and how to pick the size in a dedicated guide.
So to stay inside Demon Slayer with a child, it is Muichiro or Obanai. The other characters of the series will have to wait a few years.
For a child shorter than 110 centimetres
No full costume goes below that height. The answer sits with the one-size accessories, which fit anyone because they are not worn like clothing:
- The four masks at €29.99, including Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul and the chainsaw one from Chainsaw Man. Worn over dark clothes they read from a distance, and there is no size to guess.
- The five hats at €19.99, including Luffy's straw hat and Chopper's, which stay the most comfortable to keep on for a whole evening.
- The five beanies at €12.99, for a cold night.
- Pins from €9.99, to clip onto a coat the child already owns.
One piece of advice from experience: on a child under six, a full face mask usually becomes a problem after twenty minutes, between the heat and the narrowed field of vision. A recognisable hat and a garment in the right colour give the same result in photos, without the meltdown halfway through.
Measure before you order
Measure the child barefoot, back against a wall, and take the size above their measurement: a child of 128 centimetres takes size 130, not 120. Two reasons not to size exactly. First these costumes are worn over a jumper when 31 October turns cold, which it often does. Second a child grows between the order and the party, especially if you order two weeks ahead.
Allow up to 12 working days for delivery, longer depending on the country and the local carrier. For arrival before 31 October, order as early as you can. Shipping is free across the 53 European countries with no minimum, and €3.99 elsewhere.
After Halloween
These costumes are not for one evening. They come out again at conventions, birthdays and photo shoots, and a size 140 lasts two or three years if the child grows slowly. The rest of the collection, adult and children's sizes together, sits in Halloween costumes and outfits, and our guide to anime costumes for 31 October compares the ten outfits people recognise fastest, adult sizes included.
