In short: Chrollo Lucilfer's earrings, worn by the Phantom Troupe leader in Hunter x Hunter, are two turquoise-blue spheres hanging from a gold fitting, one on each ear. The manga is black and white: the anime, then the NEN×IMPACT fighting game released in July 2025, fixed that color. The replica costs 16.99 euros, clip-on or pierced, rated 5 out of 5 by eleven buyers.
What color are Chrollo's earrings?
Turquoise blue, with a gold fitting. Each earring is a small solid sphere, slightly glossy, hanging just below the lobe on a short mount. No cross, no spider: Chrollo's earrings are the only understated part of an outfit that is anything but.

The color question comes up constantly, and fairly so: in Yoshihiro Togashi's manga, printed in black and white, there is no way to settle it. The anime adaptation installed this blue-green, and the fighting game HUNTER×HUNTER NEN×IMPACT carried it over identically in 2025, down to the light reflection on top of the sphere. The figures follow the same reference. So if you want accurate Chrollo earrings, turquoise is the shade to aim for; a plain gold replica also exists, for a look that reads jewelry rather than cosplay.
Chrollo or Kuroro: why two names for the same character?
Same man. Kuroro Lucifer is the historical French transcription, the one from the Kana volumes French-speaking readers grew up with. Chrollo Lucilfer is the international transcription, used by the anime and the games everywhere else. Two spellings, one Phantom Troupe leader.
That is why our earring replica is named Kuroro while the whole planet types "chrollo earrings" into Google. Depending on generation and language, everyone searches their own spelling, and both lead to the same character: the thief who leads the twelve-legged spider, founded with his childhood friends in Meteor City, the junkyard town nobody leaves.
What do Chrollo's forehead cross and book mean?
The cross tattooed in the middle of his forehead has never been explained: neither the manga, nor the anime, nor Togashi gives its origin, and fan theories remain theories. The back of his fur-trimmed coat does carry a large inverted golden cross. The book is his power: Skill Hunter, which steals other people's abilities and stores them in a grimoire, the Bandit's Secret.

Open book held as a guard, forehead cross in plain sight: Chrollo in the fighting game's gameplay trailer.
Those three elements, cross, coat, book, make the silhouette recognizable in a second. They are also bulky, expensive or tricky to reproduce properly. The earrings go the other way: two small turquoise spheres are enough to say "Chrollo" to anyone who knows, with no cross on your forehead and no fur on your shoulders. That is exactly what you ask of a character accessory, and it is why they became the most requested piece of our Hunter x Hunter range.
Clip-on, pierced blue or pierced gold: which version to choose?
All three versions cost 16.99 euros on the same listing. Clip-ons need no piercing, perfect for a convention or a first try; the pierced blue version is the closest to the anime; the pierced gold one plays the discreet jewelry card. No magnetic version here, I would rather say it than let you guess.
| Version | Who it suits | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Clip-on blue | Unpierced ears, one-day cosplay | An Australian buyer calls them "super sturdy" but notes they slide off if you don't tighten the clasp |
| Pierced blue | The version true to the anime and the game | Nickel-free hooks according to the listing, the exact turquoise of the visuals |
| Pierced gold | Daily wear, jewelry look | Same sphere, plain gold finish, less cosplay-coded |

Even mid Indoor Fish, the turquoise sphere follows the movement: NEN×IMPACT game capture.
We ship worldwide with tracking, 7 to 21 days depending on destination, and returns are accepted within 14 days. Before a convention, keep a month of margin: that is the rule I repeat for every accessory, this one included.
What the eleven reviews say
5 out of 5, eleven reviews, nine countries: Mexico, Japan, Spain, Peru, South Korea, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom and Australia, left between May and October 2025. What comes up most: accuracy to the design and the quality of the material. What surprises people: the weight.
Four reviews out of eleven mention it. Manuel, in Mexico: "really good material, they do weigh a bit, but perfect for the price". Gabriel, in Peru: "pretty, but very big and heavy". A Korean buyer says they are "heavier than expected" while still recommending them, and points out a small hole under the bead. Shunichi, in Japan: "just like the photos, a bit heavy on the ear, but they look fantastic". The reason is simple: the spheres are solid, not hollow. That is what gives the massive look of the anime, and that is what surprises you when you expect light fashion jewelry.
The rest is more classic: "very accurate and good quality" from the UK, "arrived within a week" from Spain, "fast delivery, perfect size" from another British review. One honest limit: the listing does not give the diameter of the spheres, only the review photos let you judge the scale before buying.
Completing a Chrollo cosplay, or a Phantom Troupe one
A Chrollo cosplay rests on four things: slicked-back hair, the forehead cross, the fur-trimmed coat and the earrings. The hair works with gel on a dark base, the cross draws on with eyeliner. The coat is the hard piece: we don't sell one, and decent versions are rare and expensive. The earrings are the easy part of the costume.
| Piece | Price | Reviews | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuroro earrings | 16.99 euros | 5/5 from 11 | The detail connoisseurs spot first |
| Phantom Troupe t-shirt | 25.99 euros | 4.6/5 from 20 | The twelve-legged spider without the coat |
| Killua Zoldyck wig | 29.99 euros | 4.8/5 from 9 | For a hunter versus thief duo |
| Killua LED light box | 49.99 euros | 4.9/5 from 7 | For the bedroom, not the convention |

The full silhouette, long coat and book in hand, facing Kurapika: the reference for a Chrollo cosplay.
The face-off with Kurapika remains the strongest cosplay duo of the series: one mourns the Kurta clan, the other led the massacre. If you are starting out and the full outfit feels too ambitious, our guide to easy cosplay characters shows how one well-chosen accessory is enough to be recognized. The rest of the jewelry range lives in the manga earrings collection.
Wearing them without the cosplay
Two turquoise spheres on a gold fitting pass as slightly retro graphic jewelry, and that is the whole point: people who know Hunter x Hunter get it instantly, everyone else sees elegant earrings. Several reviews actually come from buyers who wear them daily, with no forehead cross and no coat.
It is the same logic as Zoro's three earrings or Tanjiro's hanafuda: the accessory signs the character without a costume, in class, at work or at an anime night. Within that family of character jewelry, Chrollo's are the most discreet of the three, no recognizable shape, just the color.
Where Hunter x Hunter stands, and why Chrollo is everywhere again
The manga is on pause again: Togashi stopped publication at chapter 420, as we cover in our article on this new hiatus. But 2025 brought the character back through the video game: HUNTER×HUNTER NEN×IMPACT, a 3-versus-3 fighting game developed by Eighting, released on July 17, 2025 on PS5, Switch and PC, with Chrollo among the sixteen launch characters.

His arrival in the game was announced at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 6, 2024, with a trailer where Mamoru Miyano reprises the role he holds in the 2011 anime. The Japanese version of the trailer is on Bushiroad's channel. Every time Chrollo steps back into the spotlight, searches for his outfit spike, and for his earrings first: the cheapest and easiest piece of his whole look to actually wear.

On the bookshop side, volume 38 is out, and the Phantom Troupe holds a central place in it aboard the Black Whale. In other words, Chrollo is not done making noise, with or without a new chapter.
Frequently asked questions about Chrollo's earrings
What color are Chrollo's earrings?
Turquoise blue, shaped as solid spheres, with a gold fitting. The black-and-white manga never settles it: the anime and then the NEN×IMPACT game fixed this blue-green shade, and the figures follow it. The replica comes in turquoise and in plain gold.
Are Chrollo and Kuroro the same character?
Yes. Kuroro Lucifer is the historical French transcription from the Kana volumes, Chrollo Lucilfer the international one used by the anime and the games. Same Phantom Troupe leader in Hunter x Hunter, and both spellings lead to the same searches.
Does the replica exist for unpierced ears?
Yes, the clip-on version costs the same as the two pierced versions, 16.99 euros. There is no magnetic version. Clip-ons suit a convention or a first try; one review advises tightening the clasp so they hold all day.
Are Chrollo's earrings heavy?
Heavier than regular fashion jewelry: the spheres are solid, and four reviews out of eleven mention the weight, though none drops below 5 stars for it. If your ears are sensitive, plan to wear them a few hours rather than a full day at first.
What does the cross on Chrollo's forehead mean?
Nobody knows: Togashi has never explained it, in the manga or in interviews. The back of his fur coat carries a large inverted golden cross, distinct from the forehead mark. The earrings themselves carry no symbol at all, they are plain spheres.
How long does delivery take?
7 to 21 days depending on destination, with a tracking number. Two reviews mention delivery within a week in Europe, but keep a month of margin before a convention. Returns accepted within 14 days.
