Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026: the full November 14-15 schedule

Published on September 14, 2026·Updated on September 14, 2026·By Antoine Brault

A French cosplay and manga goods shop since 2023. We try on the costumes we sell, and we write about the series we actually follow. About us.

In short: Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global returns on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time, everywhere. On the menu: the Dynamax debuts of Dialga and Palkia, alternating Steel and Dragon hours, GO Safari Balls and an optional US$11.99 ticket.

When does Wild Area 2026 take place?

Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Hours are local time: no time zone math, you play from 10 to 6 wherever you live, whether that is London, Chicago or Manila. It is the same two-day format as September's GO Fest Mega Finale.

The global weekend closes out a full Wild Area month: one week earlier, from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8, two in-person editions run in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City. The event page gathers all three dates.

This year's theme is stated plainly: Steel and Dragon types. If your storage is overflowing with Dratini and Metagross, this is your weekend.

Dynamax Dialga and Palkia: who, when, how?

Dynamax Dialga appears in Max Battles on Saturday, November 14, and Dynamax Palkia takes over on Sunday, November 15. It is the first time the two Sinnoh legendaries are available in Dynamax form in Pokémon GO, and both can be Shiny from day one.

Dialga on Saturday, Palkia on Sunday: one day each, so budget your Max Particles.

One pain point to plan around: Max Particles. The daily cap rises to 1,600 for everyone during the event, and to 3,200 for ticket holders. A legendary Max Battle costs 800 per attempt, so count your tries before spending everything on minor battles on Saturday morning.

Which Pokémon spawn on November 14 and 15?

Spawns alternate every hour between two moods: the Solid as Steel Hour at 10 a.m., 12, 2 and 4 p.m., and the Daring as Dragons Hour at 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 5 p.m. On the Steel side, the game's page shows Alolan Sandshrew, Magnemite, Onix, Lucario and Beldum, among others. On the Dragon side: Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew and Goomy, all huntable in Shiny form.

Three-star raids get their own two-day guest: a Machamp wearing a modern jacket, exclusive to the event, that knows Karate Chop and can also be Shiny. The kind of costume you then do not see again for years, as collectors know all too well.

A quick shop aside: Dratini headlining the Dragon hours works out nicely. The Dratini metal ring is one of our best-rated Pokémon pieces, 4.8 out of 5 across 46 reviews at 12.99 euros. Sara, a customer in France, wrote last September she "was expecting it to be too small but very surprised that it wasn't". It wears very well on a Dratini-hunting day.

What are GO Safari Balls and mighty Pokémon for?

Mighty Pokémon are rare specimens far stronger than usual, first introduced this spring. They flee fast, which is where GO Safari Balls come in: an event-exclusive Ball obtained by spinning PokéStops and Gym Photo Discs, with a much better catch rate on these targets.

The camouflage GO Safari Ball. At 6:01 p.m. on Sunday, it stops working.

Mind the trap: these Balls only work during event hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Any left in your bag after the end are wasted. Spend them.

The mighty roster announced for everyone fits the theme: Alolan Exeggutor, Azumarill, Scizor, Kingdra, Aggron, Flygon, Empoleon, Magnezone, Conkeldurr and Hydreigon, with different rotations on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket holders get two extra targets, and not small ones: mighty Latias and Latios from Incense, Shiny possible, on both days.

Is the US$11.99 ticket worth it?

The global event is free; the ticket is an optional add-on sold for US$11.99 on the game's web store and in-app shop. It covers both days and adds a branching Special Research where you pick a side, Steel or Dragon, with a medal at the end.

My casual-player take: if you plan to go out both days, the doubled Max Particle cap alone pays for the ticket, since it doubles your attempts at Dialga and Palkia. If you only play an hour or two, the free event is already generous.

What about the Sendai and Mexico City editions?

From Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8, 2026, one week before the global weekend, the event plays out city-wide with separate tickets in two settings: Sendai, in Japan's Tohoku region, and Mexico City. Japan follows up on Nagasaki in 2025, and the two key visuals set the tone, red maples on one side, the Angel of Independence on the other.

Mexico City, with Hawlucha at the fountain's edge, of course.

If you are not traveling, no harm done: the playable novelties, Dynamax Dialga and Palkia first among them, reach everyone the following weekend. Same logic as August's Worlds, whose Pokémon GO event I covered here: in-person editions get the atmosphere, the global edition gets most of the content.

While waiting for November 14, the shop's Pokémon section is in full swing before the holidays. Team Dragon trainers will also find the Rayquaza AirPods case there, 4.7 out of 5 across 32 reviews. And if you missed September's Mega Finale, the GO Fest 2026 rundown is here to compare both formats.

Common questions about Wild Area 2026

Do I need a ticket to play the Wild Area event?
No. The global edition of November 14-15 is open to everyone, free, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time: Steel and Dragon spawns, the jacketed Machamp, GO Safari Balls and Max Battles against Dialga and Palkia are all accessible without paying. The US$11.99 ticket only adds bonuses.

Where do I buy the Wild Area: Global ticket?
On the Pokémon GO web store or directly in the in-game shop, for US$11.99. One ticket covers both days. The Sendai and Mexico City editions have their own separate ticketing, by city and by time slot.

Do GO Safari Balls carry over after the event?
No. They can only be used during event hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 14 and 15, and any still in stock after the end become unusable. Best practice: throw them at mighty Pokémon first, since those flee much faster than anything else.

Can I get Latias or Latios without a ticket?
Not during this event: both mighty Incense encounters are ticket-only. Without a ticket the roster is still deep, from Scizor to Hydreigon by way of Kingdra and Aggron, and GO Safari Balls work on every mighty Pokémon.

Can Dynamax Dialga and Palkia be Shiny?
Yes, both, from their debut. Shiny Dialga is on the menu Saturday the 14th, Shiny Palkia on Sunday the 15th, each in Max Battles at 800 Max Particles per attempt. The ticket doubles the daily Particle cap, which mechanically doubles your tries.

How is Wild Area different from GO Fest?
The format is the same, two days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with an optional ticket, but summer's GO Fest casts a wide net on spawns. Wild Area is November's themed event: this year everything revolves around Steel and Dragon types, with the Dynamax debuts of Dialga and Palkia topping the bill.
